American Breast Sizes Are Getting Bigger

Thursday, June 25, 2009 |

What the New York Times is reporting today can only be described as an adolescent boy's fantasy. It seems that women are going up in bra size, if only because designers are changing the cup sizes of the products they sell.

"These days, many women -- to their shock or glee -- are finding that DD is becoming the new C," writes Laura Holson.

Among the articles findings: At Wacoal America, one of the largest U.S. bra makers, 36DD is on track to replace 36D as its most popular size in 2009. (Three years ago, it was 36C.)

Unfortunately, this suggests that women aren't changing as much as the designers are redefining their sizes. My cup runneth over with mixed feelings.
