KJo, RGV & Vashu clash

Saturday, June 20, 2009 |

Never before has such a huge clash been seen on the big screen on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. However, with 2nd October falling on a Friday this year, few film makers are already eyeing this long weekend as just the right time for bringing their films to theaters. These are Karan Johar, Ram Gopal Varma and Vashu Bhagnani who have all but confirmed 2nd October as the D-day for the arrival of their upcoming films.

RAM GOPAL VARMA, KARAN JOHAR & VASU BHAGNANI

So while Ram Gopal Varma was the first to lock 2nd October for his biggest project till date, RANN, Karan Johar has also joined the fray with his first core multiplex film WAKE UP SID. Meanwhile Vashu Bhagnani, who recently released KAL KISSNE DEKHA, has already begun promoting his next biggie DO KNOT DISTURB that reunites him with David Dhawan and Govinda.

CHECK OUT : RANN and the associated controversy of JAN GAN MAN...

All being prestigious projects in their own rights, the good part is that each of them carries good enough potential to be a definite success in the making. While RANN with it's powerhouse star cast led by Amitabh Bachchan is a clear fore runner, WAKE UP SID is important too in it's own right as it sees Ranbir Kapoor in his yet another solo release after BACHNA AE HASEENO and SAAWARIYA. Moreover, the film is expected to bring the youngster in a new light altogether. As for DO KNOT DISTURB, it is what one calls as a 'safe film', what with quintessential family entertainer written all over it.

Though it would only be fair if at least one of the three films opts for a later date in order to relieve the audience from making a choice between three films releasing on the same Friday, one can be rest assured that each of them will certainly generate a lot of curiosity en route to it's theatrical release.Who blinks first and picks another date for itself is the million dollar question now!
