Pratiksha Hatim was stabbed multiple times in the stomach and neck near her residence in suburban Andheri by Kumar Hansora (24) yesterday night, police said.
The two had known each other for some time and Hansora had proposed the girl for marriage, which she rejected, they said.
Pratiksha refused Hansora's proposal since he had no job and was an alleged alcoholic, police said.
Angered by this, Hansora attacked her with a knife and stabbed her multiple times before stabbing himself, they said.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries while Hansora was admitted to the Bhagwati Hospital, they said.
