series in Australia, to the series in Sri Lanka, I’ve been through it all,” he said, adding that the jeers would continue unless India were able to lift their game.


He recalled the first-round exit in the 2007 World Cup which he reiterated was the worst defeat of his career. “Hamari toh antim sanskar kar di thi (we had been taken to the funeral). Dhoni mentioned he never forgot of something that a senior cricketer had told him when he started his career. He said, “He (the senior cricketer) had told me that when you are up do not put yourself in seventh heaven because when you fall it hurts.”
