asin 195x300 Actress Asin Thottumkal hospitalised
Mumbai, Actress Asin Thottumkal, who’s lately been working round-the-clock, has been admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here following an acute sinus condition.

The “Ghajini” fame actress was admitted Monday morning. She was taken to Kokilaben hospital because it’s close to her home in Andheri.

Though the actress herself was unavailable for comment, her father, who was with her in the hospital, told IANS: “Yes she’s in hospital. Nothing to worry about. All this is part of the process of my daughter’s growing up.”

Asin is expected to be out after treatment in a couple of days. But the news of her hospitalisation on Eid was being whispered behind closed doors. Some said she was admitted after suffering from acute exhaustion.

“Asin was admitted to the Dhirubhai hospital… not for exhaustion but an acute sinus condition. She had been neglecting the condition for quite some time now. But now the sinus situation had to be attended to. But she was in great spirits, her usual chirpy and friendly self singing even as her treatment was being done,” said a source close to Asin.

Her condition got aggravated because of the night shooting for “London Dreams”.

“She had no choice but to get into the hospital to have the condition treated. She waited until Eid when there was break from work,” said the source.

Lucy Pinder was born on 20 December, 1983 in Winchester, Hampshire, England. She has become extremely famous as a glamour model noted for her large, natural breasts, which have been voted as being the most beautiful in Britain. Lucy lived for all her early life in Winchester and was discovered in 2003, aged 19, when she and some friends were spotted and snapped by freelance photographer Lee Earle when they were on holiday on the beach in Bournemouth, not far away from her Winchester home. As Lucy recalls, "I don't know why we agreed, but he took some pictures of us on the beach, and sent them off to The Daily Star and The Sun. The Daily Star wanted some more photos and on the back of that I got a contract." Her career immediately took off and she has since become one of the world's premier glamour models after many mouthwatering appearances in men's magazines.

At only 5'5" with undeniable beauty and all-natural 32G assets Lucy Pinder's body is something of men's fantasies come true.

While in the beginning of her career, Lucy did not pose topless, but all that changed in April 2007 when she bared all for Nuts magazine. She then became a Page Three girl for The Daily Star in July and August, and kept her shirt off in Loaded magazine in August. In the 2005 UK edition of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World, Lucy Pinder was a new entry in the poll and finished at No. 16. She posed topless for the weekly UK men's magazine Nuts in April 2007. A nude photo shoot that appeared in Loaded magazine shortly followed, as did a regular stint as a Page Three girl in The Daily Star. Drawing even more attention to Lucy Pinder's all-natural assets, the November 2007 edition of the Australian magazine Ralph, declared that Lucy officially had the "Best Breasts in the World." And in 2008, Lucy Pinder made her debut as a TV presenter on Nuts TV.

But Lucy Pinder isn't only about posing for the perfect glamor shot, she also gives back to the community. She's an ambassador for Kick 4 Life, a charity that fights poverty and disease with football in Third World countries.

After a string of real celebrity deaths last week, the Internet and online social networks killed a few more stars.
Pop star Britney Spears was among those falsely claimed to be dead recently.

Pop star Britney Spears was among those falsely claimed to be dead recently.

Despite what you may have read, Jeff Goldblum, Natalie Portman, George Clooney, Britney Spears, Harrison Ford and Rick Astley are alive.

Fake news of their deaths flew across the Internet -- particularly on online social networks like Twitter and Facebook -- after Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon were reported dead.

The situation is calling attention to the changing state of the news media: As information online moves faster and comes from more sources, it's more difficult to verify what's true and what may be shockingly false.

Some have downplayed the situation, saying the rumors are not harmful. Others find the situation offensive in light of the actual deaths last week.

Internet-savvy readers can tell the difference between fake news and real information that has been verified by a trusted blogger or mainstream news reporter, said Gabriel Snyder, managing editor at Gawker, a celebrity news and gossip blog not associated with the rumors.
Don't Miss

* Complete coverage: Michael Jackson
* Online community stunned by Jackson's death

"It's easier than ever to publish stuff, and the human condition is a complicated thing. Some people just like to be responsible for starting something," he said, noting that the trend is not especially new.

Others say the fake deaths, or "death pranks," show an inherent problem with the decentralization of news on the Internet.

The man who claims indirect responsibility for several of the recent fake celebrity deaths is Rich Hoover, whose site, fakeawish.com, allows users to input celebrity names into five false news templates with outlandish stories about their deaths.

Hoover said the site's fans used its story-generation power to start rumors that Goldblum, Ford, Portman and Clooney had died. Traffic on his site jumped from a few thousand users per day to about 500,000 in the two days after Michael Jackson's death, he said.

A fake story that appears to have been generated by the site claimed that Portman had died after falling off a cliff in New Zealand. But while a small disclaimer tells readers the story is false, Hoover said many Twitter and Facebook users re-post links after reading only a story headline.

"I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the success of this and the impact these social networks have on communication -- and the communication of misinformation," he said.

About 85 percent of the recent traffic on Hoover's site came from Facebook and Twitter, he said, adding that the traffic does help him make money.

CNN could not independently verify that the celebrity rumors started from Hoover's site.

CNN's user-generated news community, iReport.com, was criticized for spreading celebrity death rumors following Michael Jackson's death.

One of the site's users sent in a post saying Astley had died. That false news about the singer of "Never Gonna Give You Up" was not aired on CNN or CNN.com, both of which vet iReports for accuracy before using them in reporting.

For pop star Spears, the recent false news came across Twitter, a micro-blogging site where users post 140-character messages.

After a post said Spears had died, a correction was posted to her Twitter feed on Sunday, saying "Britney's Twitter was just hacked. The last message is obviously not true. She is fine and dandy spending a quiet day at home relaxing."

News surrounding deaths is very sensitive and must be correct, said Elaine Haney, president of tributes.com, an obituary site that verifies deaths, often through funeral homes, before posting.

"You never want to kill somebody by accident," she said.

She added, "I don't think there's much good to say about somebody who would joke about something serious like that. It's unfortunate."

The fake news may not be all bad for celebrities.

Goldblum, for example, went on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" to dispel rumors that he had died.

In the episode, host Stephen Colbert jokes that he thinks Goldblum is dead even as the actor appears on stage beside him.

Goldblum then posts to Twitter to try to prove that he is still living.

"Oh my God! Ladies and gentlemen, I have huge news," Colbert says, upon reading Goldblum's tweet on his phone. "The dead can Twitter."

Goldblum then reads his own false obituary into the camera.

Following high drama, Sonal Chauhan is now staying away from the media
picture: Viral Bhayani

It's celebration time for the team of "Jannat". So, they threw a bash to celebrate the film's success on Wednesday night (May 21) at Magic, the newly opened nightclub in Mumbai. But the leading lady Sonal Chauhan was missing in action.

A source close to her family informed that she is staying away as she is nervous about facing all kinds of untoward questions from the media. The reason? Her boyfriend reportedly slapped her at Mumbai airport in full public view on Tuesday.

It is said that Sonal reached the Santa Cruz airport at around 8.30 p.m. and was approached by her long time boyfriend Sahil Zaroo. Police revealed that an untoward incident took place between the couple. It is said that Sahil slapped Sonal in public following a tiff.

The Andheri magistrate court on Wednesday remanded Sahil Zaroo, who was arrested by Delhi Police two years ago for allegedly supplying cocaine to Rahul Mahajan, to two days police custody for slapping Sonal on Tuesday at the domestic airport.

The police have also accused him of molesting her and stealing her mobile besides trespassing into the airport premises.

Have you ever thought about the way your ears respond to the music flowing out of your car speakers or the TV? Sound is made up of invisible waves of energy that give rise to vibrations that enter your ears. Every time you hear a sound, the various structures of the ear have to work together to make sure the information gets to the brain. This function would be impossible if you have unhealthy ears. Actress Bipasha Basu, who recently suffered from a clogged ear when an ear bud got lodged next to her ear drum, knows how it feels to realise how sensitive your ear really is. The actress has earlier also got an insect and a pebble stuck in her ear. Now she makes it a point to cover her ears when asleep.

Taking care of your ears should be a part of your daily health regime. We tell you how even cutting down on your dairy consumption can pave the way for healthier ears.

Never clean ear with pen

Dr Juthika Sheode, ENT Surgeon, Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital
The ear is responsible for your hearing and balance and consists of three parts the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear. The inner ear translates the vibrations into electric signals and sends them to the auditory nerve, which is connected to the brain. When these nerve impulses reach the brain, they're interpreted as sound. The middle ear must be at the same pressure as the outside world, a feat which is taken care of by the Eustachian Tube. You may suffer from various ear-related problems if you do not maintain the necessary cleanliness. The collection of wax is the most common problem that occurs due to the secretion of glands of the ear canal.

You may suffer from a fungal infection if moisture remains behind either after showering or swimming. Diabetic patients are also very prone to ear infections.

HOT TIP: Avoid the usage of ear drops until you are advised to do so by an ENT specialist. Do not turn it into a daily practice. Never insert objects like a pen or a pin to clean the dirt accumulated in your ear.

Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu got the scare of her life when she realised that she had a cotton clogged in her ear during a recent shoot.

Onions can cure infection, sugar helps bacteria grow
>>Onion is a natural cure for adult ear infections. Slice it up and cook it. Wrap it in a towel or a paper napkin and apply it to
the ear. Onions have anti-infection fighting properties that help ward off ear infection.
>>To draw out puss from your ears, fill a sock or a small bag with salt and press it against the ear.
>>If you are among those who suffer from frequent ear problems, reduce the consumption of dairy products, as these foods and drinks tend to increase the body's production of mucus. As a result, the congestion and pain associated with ear infections worsen.
>>Draping a towel over the head and sitting over a bowl containing hot steaming water and essential oils also gives a relief in case you are suffering from extreme pain.
>>Avoid eating foods that are high in sugar content. Ear infections are usually bacterial in nature and sugar helps bacteria grow. Avoid consuming sweets, drinking soda and other beverages in case of an
ear disorder.
>>Chew gum containing xylitol. It loosens and relieves pressure in the ear and even releases xylitol in the mouth and throat, thus preventing bacteria to move up to the nasal passages and into the ear.

Suffering from an ear infection?
You need to visit the doctor if these symptoms persist for long. Most infections can be treated comfortably and without complications if detected at a minor stage.
>>Blockage in the ear
>>Temporary hearing loss
>>Itchiness in the ear
>>Pain in the ear that worsens with the movement of ear lobe or jaw
>>Discharge from the ear
>>Inflammation in the ear
>>Upset stomach or diarrhoea and vomiting
>>Leaking of fluid from the ear
>>Fever and dizziness

Don't pour mustard oil when in pain

Dr Sanjiv Badhwar ENT Consultant. Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital gives you some essential tips to prevent ear disorders
>>Always keep your ears dry. Use ear plugs when you are swimming so that water doesn't accumulate in your ears.
>>Be careful while using cotton buds. See to it that they do not enter the ear canal. In case of carelessness, cotton might get clogged in the ear.
>>Avoid using traditional
methods like usage of mustard oil as it harms your ears and leads to irritation.
>>In case you are suffering from a cold, visit a doctor before boarding a flight. Cold might lead to sinus or barotrauma (physical damage to body
tissues caused by a difference in pressure between an air space inside or beside the body and the surrounding gas) leading to an uncomfortable journey. Moreover, it can further lead to cold-related ear infection.
>>Do not try hard to eliminate the itching in the ear by unconsciously inserting objects in the ear. In case a vegetative foreign body like a grain gets stuck in he ear, it will swell up and create further complications.
>>Similarly, your ear might get blocked with an insect while you are on a camping trip. Visit an ENT specialist immediately.
>>Do not get worried due to the accumulation of wax in the ear as it is nature's way of keeping your ear water proof. It is absolutely fine unless you are experiencing pain.
>>If you are suffering from vertigo, get the Vestibular Balance Platform check done. It uses sensors to detect whether your ear is the cause for vertigo. If yes, there are right exercises that can cure it.

The most common ear infection? Otitis media
Ear infections in adults are mainly caused by bacteria getting inside the middle ear through the Eustachian Tube (a small passage that connects the middle ear to the back of the throat behind the nose). This leads to a swelling on the middle ear lining, causing blockage in the Eustachian Tube. This eventually leads to the formation of fluid build up and as it increases, it can cause temporary hearing loss and pain. If unchecked, the fluid build-up can end up pressuring the ear drum and damaging it.

The three most common types of ear infections are Otitis Media ear infection or inflammation of the middle ear caused when infections that cause sore throats, colds, or other respiratory or breathing problems spread to the middle ear. These can be viral or bacterial infections. Then there is Otitis Interna an inner ear infection or labyrinthitis, and Otitis Externa ear infection of the outer ear or outer ear canal. The ear itches or becomes red and inflamed and any head movement or touching of the ear becomes very painful. Even pus might drain from the ear. The most common of these types of ear infections is Otitis Media.

Most of the ear infections are treated through ear drops or capsules but you might need a minor surgery in case you are suffering from a complicated viral infection.
